The Arizona law is known as the strictest anti-illegal immigration action in recent U.S. History. It would make it a crime for an alien to be in the state without carrying required documents, which critics have said will increase racial profiling and infringes upon constitutionally protected civil liberties. The law was set to begin last year but its most controversial provisions were blocked by a federal judge, partly at the doing of a lawsuit filed by the justice department.
