Here is a clip from the excellent report.
As the Lone Star State power grid strained to meet demand in August, its Public Utility Commission asked the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which operates the grid, about the impact of the new EPA rules. "We expect to see 1,200 to 1,400 megawatts of generation capacity unavailable that was available this year," responded ERCOT representative Warren Lasher.
And more...
American Electric Power has announced that the new rules would force it to retire 6,000 megawatts of coal-fired generating capacity and to spend up to $8 billion to refit other facilities. Closed would be three power plants in West Virginia, one in Ohio and one in Virginia. This report from Investor's Business Daily Editorial.
It's fraud to push a hollow jobs bill at the same time your administration is actively working to kill jobs though regulatory suffocation of the economy.
