Sunday Psalm and Prayer- A Merry Christmas to All

Psalm 1

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel
   of the ungodly,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and
   night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives
   away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the
   judgement.
Nor sinners in the congregation of the
   righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the
   righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

New King James Version

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

Advent of the Son of Man

Luke 2:1-20

1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from
Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyre'nius was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into
Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the
and lineage of David:)
5 To be taxed with Mary his expoused wife, being great with child.
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that
she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes,
and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping
watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore
afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings
of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ
the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling
cloths, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising
God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven,
the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see
this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying
in a manger.
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was
told them concerning this child.
18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which  were told them by
the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things
that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Germany Has Won Europe Without Firing a Shot.

  • German work ethic is the reason.
  • They work hard, play hard, they enjoy life.
  • If you work hard where others do not, you are in control.
An excerpt from Professor Hanson:
How did the grand dream of a "new Europe" end just 20 years later in a German protectorate — especially given the not-so-subtle aim of the European Union to diffuse German ambitions through a continentwide superstate?
Not by arms. Britain fights in wars all over the globe, from Libya to Iraq. France has the bomb. But Germany mostly stays within its borders — without a nuke, a single aircraft carrier or a military base abroad.
Not by handouts. Germany poured almost $2 trillion of its money into rebuilding an East Germany ruined by communism — without help from others. To drive through southern Europe is to see new freeways, bridges, rail lines, stadiums and airports financed by German banks or subsidized by the German government.
A very informative read today. Compare to Japan, they have a work ethic as well, and we know how well they have prospered.

Obama's Decision Reducing Troops on Border Castigated by Rick Perry.

  • Rick Perry cares about our safety, Obama could care less.
  • With Holder's Fast and Furious causing deaths and more danger to Americans, we desperately need more troops.
  • Governor Perry would be a great president, he cares and loves America.
An excerpt from the Governor's statement.
This decision is all the more appalling given the actions of Attorney General Eric Holder, who let thousands of guns fall into the hands of Mexican drug cartels through the botched Fast and Furious program. Now is not the time to cut security efforts.
“We need more, not fewer, boots on the ground, as well as strategic fencing, surveillance technology, air and marine resources, working in coordination to truly secure the border. Cutting National Guard troop levels at the border is dangerous to America’s national security, and I urge President Obama to reconsider this ill-advised decision.”

Developing economies in Latin America, China, India and Africa will drive most of the boom in global demand, said Bill Colton, Exxon Mobil vice president of corporate strategic planning. More energy will be needed to power their growing commercial and industrial sectors and their citizens' improved standards of living.
Electricity remains the largest draw on energy, and rapid improvements in the energy efficiency of buildings and appliances won't be enough to curb demand, Colton said at a news conference Thursday morning.
"As the world population expands and living standards improve, the world will need more energy, even as we learn to use energy more efficiently," Colton said.
Can you imagine such densely populated countries applying the solar or wind power methods for their electricity needs?

    Mysterious Sabotage Explosions in Iran's Military Bases;Good Work,Saboteurs!

    • Man alive, I would hate to be a site guard at any nuke sites remaining.
    • Yes, whoever is doing it, keep it up!
    • Must be a lot of nervous people in Iran.
    • They certainly cannot be much of a threat with this going on.
    Here is an excerpt from the editorial.
    The reality is Iran has been at war with the U.S. since radicals invaded the U.S. embassy in 1979 and took Americans hostage. A new generation of radicals just last week overran the British Embassy in Tehran.
    In between these acts of war, Iran has supported and armed terrorists in Iraq who have killed American soldiers; attacked Israel through surrogates Hezbollah, Hamas and a number of other Palestinian groups; shipped weapons to Afghanistan and trained the Taliban there; and plotted to assassinate Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the U.S. on American soil.
    It's should not be much longer, when the citizens will feel this is the time to revolt.
    Just a thought.

    Sunday Psalm and Prayer

    Psalm 1

    Blessed is the man
    Who walks not in the counsel
       of the ungodly,
    Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
    But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
    And in His law he meditates day and
       night.
    He shall be like a tree
    Planted by the rivers of water,
    That brings forth its fruit in its season,
    Whose leaf also shall not wither;
    And whatever he does shall prosper.

    The ungodly are not so,
    But are like the chaff which the wind drives
       away.
    Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the
       judgement.
    Nor sinners in the congregation of the
       righteous.
    For the Lord knows the way of the
       righteous,
    But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

    New King James Version

    Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

    Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
    Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
    where there is injury, pardon;
    where there is doubt, faith;
    where there is despair, hope;
    where there is darkness, light;
    and where there is sadness, joy.

    O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
    to be consoled as to console;
    to be understood as to understand;
    to be loved as to love.
    For it is in giving that we receive;
    it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
    and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen
