It is to fight obesity, but really needed for the revenue.
I suppose you could call it a sin tax.
Always thinking of ways to raise revenue - why not think about ways to reduce the cost of government?
Will quite buying it and find innovative ways around it, such as add syrup to carbonated water.
Stupid idea.
