$76,000 Spent for Each Minimum Wage Job Funded by U.S. Tax Dollar.

  • Senator Coburn (R-OK) reported this waste.
  • This waste is standard government seep down policy; it goes through overhead, top heavy supervisory staff, self auditing and other various departments.
  • Why not just mail out the billions to all of us taxpayers and we could spend it immediately anyway we want;  this cash going into retail stores, new cars, furniture, travel, etc. This would jump start the economy, rather than slow it down with government programs.
  • Just a thought.

Read a portion of this shocking report as to how this program operates.
Key findings included:

  • Wasteful administrative costs are eating up job training dollars.  In one program, just 14 cents of every dollar went to actual job training.
  • Questionable spending abounds.  For example, the Job Corps program spent $36,000 on flowers and billboards.  Other expenditures included bowling trips and recreational activities that had little to do with job training.
  • Can't wait for January 21, 2013 when we can start cleaning up Washington D.C.
