The Next Scandal: $14 Billion Overpaid Unemployment. They Are to Run Healthcare?

  • Already they have problems running Medicare, Medicaid, Post Office, Amtrak, Agriculture, and so forth.
An excerpt from the article,
Overpayments are a rampant problem in the unemployment insurance system. The federal government and states overpaid an estimated $14 billion in benefits in fiscal 2011, or roughly 11% of all the jobless benefits paid out, according to reports from the U.S. Labor Department.
Of the states, Indiana was the worst offender, making more improper payments than it did correct ones.
  • What about overpayment with the other agencies, such as Social Security, VA Benefits, Food Stamps and etc?
  • Corruption and just plain ineptness is so rampant, no one will ever get their hands around it, is my thought.
  • They drop money carrying it from one cubicle to the next is what I visualize.
