Social Security Ponzi Scheme Needs a Remedy--Now!

  • President Johnson opened my trust fund for his great society.
  • Since then it has been tapped and tapped for food stamps and generous unemployment payments.
  • Why is disability insurance being taken out of my SSI?
  • Bush's plan would solve the problem, but Democrats nixed it. Private accounts in savings or prudent investment with a private insurance you pay for starting when you work to kick in if you live past 85 and will pay till you die.
  • Chile has a working plan. Lets see if we can do the same!
  • We need to clean house starting with Washington's bureaucrats.
 An excerpt from the editorial,
Encouraging more private savings would provide a safety net if Social Security benefits do have to be cut. Allowing more generous tax-free contributions to 401(k) and IRA accounts is a good place to start.
Finally, revisiting the idea of replacing a government-controlled retirement system with private accounts must be raised again and honestly debated.
When former President George W. Bush proposed private accounts, the outrage from Democrats and even some Republicans killed the plan before its merits were fully explored.

  • Do we have any politicians who will work for us? No!
  • We have had the problem getting worse and they have been saying not to worry, it is good for many years.

Sunday Psalm and Prayer

Psalm 1

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel
   of the ungodly,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and
   night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives
   away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the
   judgement.
Nor sinners in the congregation of the
   righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the
   righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

New King James Version

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

An excerpt from the article,
Trucks that you're making here at this plant run on natural gas, and that makes them quieter, it makes them better for the environment, it makes them cheaper to fill up," President Barack Obama said during a March 7 speech to announce his administration's expanded alternative vehicle efforts at a Daimler truck factory in North Carolina. "But, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how much natural gas or flex-fuel or electric vehicles you have if there's no place to charge them up or fill them up."

Bad Sign for U.S. and the World When Peoria Bishop Compares Obama to Hitler & Stalin.

From the article,

He Is Risen!

Luke 24:1-12

Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.
2   But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
3   Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
4   And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments.
5   Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, "why do you seek the living among the dead?
6   He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee.
7  "saying, "The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again."
8   An they remembered His words.
9   Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles.
11 And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them.
12 But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed,marveling to himself at what had happened.

Nothing represents the American Dream more than ownership of a piece of land.  While significant areas of the country are legitimate public treasures, it seems yet another great paradox that in a nation of supposedly free people committed to private property rights and individual liberty, vast amount of this country is deeded to the government's Central Planners instead of to individual citizens.

U.S. 9th Circuit Court Rules for Affirmative Action Ban.

Read an excerpt from the report,
Ralph Kasarda, attorney with the Pacific Legal Foundation who had argued in favor of the ban, said the court’s decision was not surprising since the issue had already been decided. This case was redundant and baseless, he said.
“The bottom line from both decisions by the 9th Circuit — today’s and the ruling 15 years ago — is that California voters have every right to prohibit government from color-coding people and playing favorites based on individuals’ sex or skin color,” Kasarda said in a statement.

Study Reveals U.C. Has Produced a Leftist, Weak and Unbalanced Education.

  • California universities and colleges all funded by government, they advocate only.
  • The professors, many are placed by affirmative action.
An excerpt from the report,
The study urges the UC regents to restore balance to the faculty and to insist on a full airing of ideas. University leaders should "proclaim that the campus ought to be a rigorous marketplace of ideas, and that this essential idea is betrayed when the campus becomes a sanctuary for a narrow ideological segment of the spectrum of political and social ideas," the study says. "They can insist that the students' need for a well rounded education may no longer be sacrificed to the faculty's drive for the comfort of ideological conformity and uniformity."
  • U.C. Provost denies this accusation.

Sunday Psalm and Prayer

Psalm 1

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel
   of the ungodly,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and
   night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives
   away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the
   judgement.
Nor sinners in the congregation of the
   righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the
   righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

New King James Version

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen
