  • Firearms were used in 80% of deaths, knives and sharp objects for the remainder, according to the news report.

Sunday Psalm and Prayer

Psalm 1

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel
   of the ungodly,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and
   night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so,

But are like the chaff which the wind drives
   away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the
   judgement.
Nor sinners in the congregation of the
   righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the
   righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
New King James Version

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek

to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

$25 Gun Tax In Chicago. Impedes Citizens' Self Defense. Gun Control Not Working.

  • Chicago's killing count is near 500 this year, it will go over the mark this weekend.
  • Bet on it.
  • People want to protect themselves, so the tax makes it harder for them.
  • You will find that arrests are never made.
  • Gangs rule, police cannot deal with it.
An excerpt from the Fox News Report,
The new tax was sold to the public with the idea that it would offset the public cost of medical care for shooting victims.
According to Board President Toni Preckwinkle's own numbers, that cost was just shy of $35 million.
Yet the estimated revenue for the new tax will be roughly $600,000.
  • So it cannot be about funding medical seriously, it is about gun control, the Obama agenda.

Jobs Galore for Skilled Workers In Canada's Energy Boom.

  • This could happen in the USA if Obama and his Democrats release our vast potential which rivals Canada's.
  • Obama wants to add jobs but only government jobs.
  • I imagine this boom in Canada, is typical of the boom in North Dakota, Pennsylvania and Texas.
  • Housing has been a problem in North Dakota.
  • Here in my California, we have vast oil shale and offshore oil potential that rivals all our states.
  • It sickens me to write about it, when our President and Governor has a purposeful strategy to foot drag on any project to bring jobs.

Gun Control Is Not Going to Make Our Kids Safer: Says NRA Wayne La Pierre.

  • Gun control takes the weapons from good citizens, but the criminals or crazies keep theirs.
  • Go back to the old way, if your judged crazy, you go to the asylum.
  • One armed person in the school could have stopped the killings.
  • The leftists put on a face of loving children, but they are OK with millions aborted every year.

Obama's Electric Cars Has No Resale Value, So Nobody Buys.

  • Replace costly battery ($12,000), value plummets.
  • What if you want to take a trip, 4 hours to recharge after 40 miles, a 400 mile trip to Las Vegas, would take 40 hours just charging the battery.
  • Then you must have recharge stations all along the way.
  • They are not there and never will be.

California Had a Net Loss of 100,000 People In 2011. Most Went to Texas.

  • California, a nice climate and unsurpassed scenery; but has unsurpassed taxes, unreasonable environmental laws, out of control immigration and public and private unions.
  • Only the rich can leave or those that are not  rich, but out of a job.
  • The rich can pack up and leave in an hour.
  • We that have a mortgage, love our home, city, friends, church, won't leave.
  • We will pay a high price to stay.
 An excerpt from the editorial;

The Tax Foundation ranks California behind only New York and New Jersey as the worst state in its 2013 Business Tax Climate Index. It is the fourth worst state in which to make a living, according to Money Rates; has the fourth highest income tax burden, says the Tax Foundation; and has the third highest jobless rate.
As if the tax millstone weren't already heavy enough, the voters decided in November to approve Proposition 30, which increases the state sales and income taxes.
  • The old saying, you have to hit bottom before going back up.
  • Looks like California is hitting bottom and a hard lesson is ahead.
