GM to Hire Engineers for Electric Car. Who Will Purchase? The Government Will.

This news from The Wall Street Journal. Environmental activists are at it again, even after the global warming hoax.

I have taken an excerpt of the article following, the italics are mine. Not sure where it's going, this is not very reassuring to stockholders or customers. 

We have to stay invested in this technology because we’re not sure where it’s going to go,” he said. “GM is going to lead the industry in the adoption of various vehicle electrification technologies, whether its electric vehicles with extended-range capability, like the Chevrolet Volt, or the recently introduced eAssist technology that will debut on the 2012 Buick LaCrosse,” Akerson said.

Then we have to deal with this,

1) Millions in Detroit charging their batteries overnight and the power grid shuts down.

2) Car heaters, air conditioning, radio and power windows powered from battery?

3) Disposal of batteries

We should concentrate on more efficient gas powered engines.
