Detroit Mayor Dodges Bankruptcy by Laying Off City Workers.

  • Is this the Hope and Change Episode II?
  • Much of the city is being torn down and turned into farmland.
  • There is no more money, and no one will loan it to a city that has underperformed for the last 40 years.
  • If the state takes over, there will be more layoffs.
  • How does the city pay for its utilities, such as heating oil, electricity and water?
  • Utilities are private  companies, if not paid they do not supply.
  • The thousands more out of work will not be able to pay as well.
  • Winter is coming on, and heating oil is not cheap.
